Candidate Statements

Tina Allen
As a member of SEIU, I relentlessly asked my representative why we were not receiving better benefits and classification upgrades. He said, if you do not like it, do something.  So, I did.  2 months later, I was a Chapter Treasurer, General Assembly Delegate, and SEIU International Delegate for three terms and a Bargaining Representative for two terms. As an ACSS Board member, I continue to work for members.  I have two requests.  (1) vote for Tina Allen as Chapter 505 Delegate and (2) hold me accountable.  Together, we can tackle issues that affect you and make our communities better.
Sylvia Cabrales
I am delighted to nominate myself as delegate for my ACSS Chapter 505. ACSS has shaped me as a leader and I have met many great state supervisors who are doing amazing work in their respective areas. March 2020 was my first lobby day I met many great leaders who are proud to represent ACSS. Frankly, at lobby day is when I decided I would like to be a delegate and help grow ACSS. ACSS has the opportunity to attract new members and I would like to have the opportunity to help with building up ACSS for the future. Please
Colleen Heaney

Secretary/Treasurer Statement:
I, Colleen Heaney, submit my nomination for Secretary/Treasurer of Chapter 505 of ACSS. As a former Union Steward with SEIU 1000, I represented the interests of my fellow coworkers. My experience serving on elected committees/councils and representing my coworkers includes serving as the Vice Chair of the Examiner’s Committee, and a member of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council at my Department. Both committees strived to represent employees by providing suggestions and proposals to executive management. I would like to again represent my fellow coworkers and chapter members by running for Secretary/Treasurer.
