Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido has distanced himself from San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed's embattled pension attack on public employees.

After Mayor Reed withdrew his original ballot initiative, he resubmitted a revised version that was conspicuously missing Mayor Pulido's endorsement.

Reed's controversial revised measure would still drastically alter California's consitution to allow elected officials to cut current employees' promised retirement benefits without offsetting the cuts.

Reed has drawn criticism for the $200,000 donation he received in support of his pension attack, which comes from an organization with ties to former Enron executive John Arnold.

Three other mayors have still endorsed Reed's pension attack - Bill Kampe (D-Pacific Grove), Pat Morris (D-San Bernardino), and Tom Tait (R-Anaheim).
