The law will become effective February 19, 2022 and will provide supplemental sick leave retroactive to January 1, 2022. On September 28, 2021, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) shared a letter with ACSS drafted by Dr. Mark Ghaly, Secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency.
