Wall Street money managers are thinking about your retirement, too. They want to destroy our retirement system, CalPERS, so they can feed at the expense of state employees, retirees and taxpayers. After our pension is destroyed or substantially reduced, they would be happy to invest whatever money is left. Of course, their administrative expenses (including profits) are much higher than those of CalPERS. If they succeed, you’ll take all the risks and have no say in how they operate or invest.
California State Retirees (CSR) helped establish CalPERS in 1931. Protecting the rights and benefits of retired state employees is out top priority. We attend CalPERS meetings and Legislative hearings to advocate on your behalf. With over 33,000 members, our opinion on heath and pension rights and benefits matters to legislators, governors, and the CalPERS board. Our political action committee helps those who help us.
