SEIU Local 1000 last Friday made a contact proposal that asked for 5 percent COLAs in 2012 and 2015 and some pension plan reductions. It didn't include an increase in retirement contribution. Now DPA must respond.

Re: Local 1000 makes contract proposal

What are you, crazy? You shouldn't even think about such a giveaway. Where is the representation that the union boasts about? Stop the takeaways. 15% for two years: get a clue ACORN! It is time for yearly benefit increases, yearly COLA's, reduced union dues. The workers are the ones getting shafted by the unions. We all know the politicians are going to screw the little people, but when your representation screws you, it's time to eliminate them. They do not want to really improve the workplace or the wages and benefits, because if they did it correctly, they would be out of a job!
