ACSS’ message to the Department of Human Resources (CalHR) has been consistent and clear – CalHR has a statutory obligation to set salaries for excluded employees and salary increases are needed.
On July 11, 2023, CalHR published Pay Letter 23-23. While the pay letter reflects welcome salary increases for some excluded employees, it also reveals that for most supervisors and managers, CalHR has yet to determine the pay plan for the 2023 – 2024 fiscal year.
CalPERS alerted retired state employees that some retiree personal information was compromised in a data breach at a third-party vendor. The security incident did not involve current state employees.
Governor Newsom released his May Revise of the proposed state budget on May 12, 2023. The 2023-24 budget proposal contains a few highlights of importance to ACSS members:
CalHR and the Department of Finance have authorized the Excluded Employee Leave Buy-Back Program for 2022-2023.
